The Lorax by Dr Seuss

The Lorax by Dr Seuss is one of my all time favourite children's books with a strong environmental message, beautiful, poignant and poetic. At 50 years old, this book was pioneering and sadly is more important now than it has ever been. "I am the Lorax. I speak for the trees, for the trees have no tongues" Every class should study this book and will create discussions on issues such as deforestation, loss of bio-diversity, over-consumption, capitalism, empathy for those whose actions are destroying our planet, and empathy for those trying stop the destruction.  Perfect for kids of  4-9 years old, and everyone. We should all read this book.
